ABOUT

Hosted by Brooklyn-based comics Dara Jemmott and Brandy Thomas, the Comedians for Hire Podcast focuses on the never-ending struggle of pursuing a dream in comedy while also trying to survive. Whether it's waking up at 5am for a garbage route, hiding a hangover while attempting to teach algebra, or voluntarily leaving a six-figure career, we get to the nitty gritty of everything comics go through for their love of the stage.

About Brandy Thomas
Originally from Texas, Brandy Thomas fell into the crazy world of stand up after pursuing a failed documentary series that landed her in NYC. She now works as a web and graphic designer by day and comedian by night, performing at clubs and bars all over.
As the brains behind the comedians for hire podcast, she’s been deemed the “mom” of the show due to her unrelenting need to keep the conversations on track. In her spare time she enjoys eating, giving advice to strangers, and trying to hustle discounts at her local bodega.

About Dara Jemmott
Dara Jemmott is a Jersey girl, based in Brooklyn. She started stand up after a bad date said she wasn't funny, and has saved thousands of dollars on therapy ever since. Her comedic style is described as witty, hilarious and she has the ability to make the audience comfortable with the uncomfortable.
As a host, both on stage and on the podcast, she is a non-stop ball of energy and makes life feel like one big party! When she is not petting unicorns and swimming with mermaids, you can catch her at Urban Vegan Kitchen on Mondays and Brooklyn House of Comedy on Wednesdays.
